Rita Asfour

Over the years, Rita painted many subjects, using a variety of media, and in different locations:
Art School Collection – is the first group and consists of the sketches and oil paintings she created while attending the Italian Art School.  She was able to bring most of that collection with her when she immigrated to the United States in 1965.
Beirut Collection – is the product of the five years she spent in Lebanon.  It consists of gouache on paper and a few china ink images on board.  She was also able to bring that collection with her to the United States in 1965.
Children Collectionwas Rita’s first collection in the US when she lived in Santa Monica in 1968, and are all oil on canvas.  But with time and as she moved to Malibu, she started using acrylic on masonite and her competitions became more animated.
Ballerinas Collection – was started on a small scale in Santa Monica, but was much expanded later in Malibu.
Landscapes Collection – was started in 1968 in Santa Monica under the guidance of Sam Markitante.
Las Vegas Showgirls Collection – was Rita’s last collection after she moved to Las Vegas in 2012.  They were inspired by the largest showgirl extravaganza at Bally’s Casino, which she visited twice in 2013.
The Seascape Collection, Nudes Collection, Illusions Collection, Still Life Collection, and a few more.
